Stainmore summit from A66

Had to make do with a shot out of the window enroute from Kent to Edinburgh. Tried a slightly different route instead of using A1 and A1M most of the way. Cut across to the M6 at Penrith via A66. From Scotch Corner to Edinburgh was spectacular, A66, M6, then the scenic route into Balerno via A701 and A70.

A great end to a miserable start that saw us take 2 hours to get through the Dartford Tunnel and out of Kent. M20 west had huge queues with two of the three land closed, several alternative routes and Maidstone town centre gridlocked. Eventually got on M2 only to to be held up at the tunnel owing to an accident closing one of the bores. However, overall, thankful for a safe journey over such a long distance.
