It was a funny old day ...
Sadie had been a bit poorly the night before and in the morning her eyes looked really gungey and she was very subdued. So we found a vet in a nearby village and took her there .... coming out with various medicaments and a lighter purse. Poor thing, she seems to be suddenly ageing, although not in her head.
It was grey mizzle all day and we had to keep the dog quiet so it was a day confined to the van and catching up on some work things ...
There was a problem with the brakes on the car, so Mark went off to Plymouth to get that fixed .... this was becoming an expensive day!
By late afternoon the skies had cleared and we ventured out to an ancient hillfort marked on the OS map. This was at positioned on tip of a hill(!) with the most glorious views.
The remains of the encricling ditch and bank were still there and in the centre the higher level where the castle/bailey was (not sure of correct terminology..
So strange to think of the people that had lived there once and all the people who have walked there since .... I love these ancient sites.
The sun was starting to drop in the west and slanted low across the hilltop, forming sparkling light through this hawthorn.
Wifi very sporadic now, so comments and communication limited ... sorry
