The wild moor
Weather a bit variable, but decided to head up onto Dartmoor anyway. Lovely long walk and glorious cloudy skies .... what a special place it is.
After our walk we called in at rather nice pub we had seen in Holne and got chatting to one of the locals, who it turned out teaches Critical Thinking among other things at the local secondary school.
A very interesting chap, we circled around each other, conversationally speaking, until we realised we were coming from the same place in terms of ideas about things, then a full blown discussion ensued.
I came away with some ideas about new authors to read, which is good as my reading has virtually ground to halt due to lack of inspiration. What a wonderful chance meeting .... sadly I never thought of taking his photograph ..
In the late afternoon it became very sunny so we headed to Bigbury-on-sea to spend some time on the beach. At low tide the beach forms a causeway to Burgh island which is just offshore, at high tide it becomes an island once more! On the island is a rather wonderful Deco style hotel, which I am sure has been used in Agatha Christie dramatisations and such like ... (see extras for photo)
Sadie had a wonderful time in the sea, but when we go back she seemed quite poorly, so we soothed her and put her too bed. All a bit to much for the poor old girl.
