A Confusion of Guinea Fowl

A raucous tribe,
Chattering and squabbling,
Somehow endearing.

Our last day in Durham .... the site we are camped at is not only next to a glorious ruined abbey, but also has doves, guinea fowl and a peacock roaming freely. The peacock is very fine and impressive in all his strutting beauty, but it's the guinea fowl who won my heart. They are noisy, but such fun to watch as they follow each other around, occasionally, falling out and then falling in again ...

... so it's farewell to Durham and off to Berwick-upon-Tweed next....
