Growing old disgracefully

IS IT EVER TOO LATE?

Is it ever too late to learn to draw?  I hope not.  I'm attempting to teach myself the basics using a mix of books and youtube videos.   My chief problem with this is my chief problem with life - I want to get on to the good bits and I lack patience to do the mundane early practices.  Moving on to a Douglas Fir cone (extra) in my first lesson was somewhat ambitious. Nevertheless, what a gloriously contemplative and relaxing activity.

Our Favourite Canadian Grandson (the FCG) left this morning and although there were some heavy sighs, I am pleased to say it was only his granny who was greetin'.He had become a bit of a fixture in our lives over the last four weeks and I miss him in the way you miss a wiggly tooth.  You know it will come out soon, you enjoy playing around with it, you don't want to lose it but you know deep down it doesn't quite belong with you anymore. The tooth fairy arrived with a wee glass of red wine, probably the second alcoholic drink I've had this year.
