Pollen beetles
Suddenly, it seemed, this morning many of the flowers in my garden were covered in tiny Pollen Beetles, probably Meligethes aenus. They are particularly attracted to yellow blooms and can be a pest in fields of Oilseed Rape. I do hope they leave some pollen and nectar for the bees. I shall be interested to look closer tomorrow to see if anything is feeding on them.
