Out in the Summer fields again
Coming from a wintery morning in grey, we were so grateful to recieve a shivering summer outlook in the course of the afternoon. So we decided to go for it, climb up the Solling and expose ourselves to the vast plains of the Brüggenfelder Upland. And there we came, still with blinking eyes, besotted like young raccoons leaving the comfortzone of their hibernation.
It had been quite a long time since we last came here. Earlier in the year and under almost better weatherconditions. But now the summerfields were showing their upgrowing corns, barley and wheat. With a touch of poppies, dill and margherites. This and the warmth of the translucent sun rendering our unexpected walkingexercise into a festive opportunity.
Most remarkable: in the sky high above a wheatfield a skylark singing its heavenly song. Larks have short winks and they hover on great altitude. Unlike a predator hawk or buzzard their hoverflight is not marked by searching for prey. Larks wings are sizzling greetings of a self-elevating soul to signal and celebrate the safety of their grounded nest in a blessing way. Larks display this selfelevating power in an enchanting way halfway-up, halfwaydown,
somewhere in-between Earth&Sky. In praise of the fructuous summerfields.
