Summer solstice

Progress in the front garden. A month ago this was a block of grass. Having spent many days and evenings measuring, digging, adding manure and planting , it is finally complete! A few more plants to go in later in the year. Some of the shrubs I have planted will grow quite large and herbaceous plants will soften the edges.

Summer solstice today. I woke early and had my bowl of porridge in the garden. It's been a lovely warm sunny day. Tonight the sun has set at about 9:20 but it is still very light. These long summer days are treasured.
