Summer Solstice

The longest day of the year. This morning I watched my niece Emily at her swimming lesson, then after lunch in the garden with Mum and Steve, I sat in the sun reading the paper. Mum and I then made fruit scones to accompany dinner, Steve in the meantime went to the allotment. I popped up to see how the fruit and vegetables are progressing. Very well...there are broad beans, peas, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, melons, beetroots, cabbages, lettuces, cucumbers, blackcurrants and much more. What delights.
