This statue was unveiled yesterday. It is of the first woman to be elected to the Icelandic parliament. It is also the first full bodied statue in Reykjavík of a woman. I like it a lot.
The parliament had an open day today because of the 100 years' festivities, so we visited. There was also an exhibition of the first women who sat in the parliament all these years. There were only five the first fifty years, since 1983 there has been a better representation.
