Canderson's Sweetie Shop of Leith Walk
It's been aaagggeessss since I posted an entry in the series #leithwalkshops. I seem to have been blessed with many other subjects or preoccupations (e.g. the April challenge). Leith Walk is - despite the many problems and challenges which the local community are trying to face up to - a living ecosystem of new and old shops. This one is new. I'm not exactly sure how new, but definitely new. It's a good old fashioned sweetie shoppe, of the type that those of a certain age would visit with funds provided by our grannies and aunties, for the sorts of products that have resulted in most of us having at least a modicum of fillings, or possibly worse, in our teeth. Not to mention an enduring sugar addiction... For that reason, although I don't normally edit my contributions to the #leithwalkshops series, I decided to vintage-ify this one, with consequent loss of colour saturation.
I don't know whether they will survive in these harsh times, but anyway, good luck to them, that's what I say.
