There She Is!
Well, exactly what blip would you expect from the President of The Polly Dog Appreciation Society, USA Division, upon their first meeting? She's every bit as lovely as I expected, as are her owners following close behind, blippers MidgeholeDave and BeeziePet.
We had a delightful day riding the steam train from Oxenhope to Keighley, something I haven't done since 1998. I enjoyed it just as much today as I did then thanks to David and Beryl (Polly stayed home). We rode First Class in one of the vintage club cars which was an added bonus. The car was elegantly appointed with red leather seats, deep green carpet decorated with the LYR/white & red rose emblem and brass fixtures. The conductor was dressed in a long black frock coat (I think that's what it would be called -- may have to amend that). There was a brass band playing at the Keighley station -- most cheerful despite the gloomy weather. The whole experience was really special.
The extras are of MidgeholeDave and BeeziePet riding in style, the steam train being re-supplied with coal and the Engineer concentrating at the controls.
For a great blip of the formally attired Conductor, check BezziePet's blip for today (please note the red rose in his lapel) and for a nice blip of the beautiful club car check MidgeholeDave's extras.
Thank you David and Beryl for a wonderful day.
