Unwelcome visitor(s)

Found around 10 of these caterpillars (?) on our bougainvillea. They are brilliantly camouflaged, on the plant they look exactly like a bit of twig, so I only spotted the first one when I saw it hanging down by a thread. Even then, it wasn't till I touched it that I realised it was a living creature.

Once I had removed them to a glass, they appeared to start rehearsing for Cirque du Soleil - see the extra photo.
