Nothing to see here but sea
I was visiting a couple of our catchment primary schools today - one just before lunch and one just after. I couldn't be bothered heading back to my own school for lunch and it was such a nice day anyway, so I stopped off at my favourite bakery and bought my favourite filled roll (chicken and spring onion - and if I remember rightly this was the subject of my first ever blip). Where to go to eat it though? I was just going to head to Ravenscraig Park but on my way there I remembered that Outlander was being filmed in Dysart at the moment. I decided to go there and have a nosey.
I tried reading the first book and couldn't get into it all so gave up after 50 pages or so but almost everyone else I know who has read it, adores it and are excited about the TV series. In particular my friend Carol - who was the chief reason I decided to come here today: I was hoping to get some photos to tease her with (though not sure why I felt this necessary really as I think her brother-in-law is the actual cameraman for this series). Anyway I couldn't get near the place. Roads had been blocked off and security put on them. I found a footpath leading down to the seafront but when I looked along there was a big fence keeping folk away so I didn't bother going any nearer. Instead I took some photos south, across the Forth, chiefly because there were some interesting looking birds sitting on a rock just offshore. I couldn't work out what they were. I get mixed up with cormorants and shags and I always thought they were self-coloured but the middle one in particular here looked to have a much paler chest. I had noticed a bird in free flight coming through as I took a few photos but it wasn't until I looked closer that I saw I had caught it coming by. It looks like the rock is excreting it out from its western tip!
