Sleepover

We had a lovely time snuggling in bed reading this morning. She got up for a play while I read my own book some more. She had fun with her piano practice and did a drawing as part of a homework project before getting dressed. She was invited to go play with some friends at the soft play so went mid morning and stayed til early afternoon.

While she was out, I got a phonecall inviting her to go for a playdate and sleepover with her friend. I picked her up with her things in the car and she was extremely excited - though torn between wanting to stay and going for the fun time - when I told her. She's only had 2 nights apart from me ever, so I am less keen, but am willing to support the independence! It's not fun though, is it?! I dropped her round to her friends house and had a cup of tea with her mum and the baby while the big girls ran off to play. I got huge cuddles when I left her, from both girls, before wandering round morrisons like a lost puppy. I will talk to her to say goodnight, but it already feels very strange that she's not here, even though she would normally be upstairs asleep by now.
