Cartwheel

5years 219days

Katie woke about 6 today. I had been awake since 5 but by 6 my head was hurting. I said that she could have a DVD on downstairs (that's not a normal for a weekday). She liked the idea and snuggled with her favourite blanket and Peppa pig on the TV. She woke me up at 815 to ask me how to spell "Dalby". I felt so much better for the couple of hours! She'd made herself a huge breakfast, she'd done a gorgeous picture, played nicely and been a very good girl.

We spent ages on piano practice. She has a new piece to learn that she's loving. We also changed some of her rhythm exercises to make them trickier and she loved that too. She did some school reading before we did some card making and drawing. She was at a friend's lunch party today so headed off with them at midday. I went to meet them after id done some jobs and we all had a happy, slightly chaotic hour. After lunch we went home and played Lego. She then told me "if I had work to do, it was ok if I went to do it as the pretend children wanted to come play". That was me kicked out! She had a great time teaching the children school and then took her dolls for a walk to the pretend park.

We had afternoon tea and she asked for a trip to the pastures to fly the kite. We got there and realised the kite was incredibly tangled so she had a good time with the poi and perfecting her cartwheels instead- she worked hard on them yesterday and cracked what had been holding her back. She was determined to master it! We bought ice lollies on the way home and she went straight up to bed. The last couple of nights she's wanted "the sleepy song" to go to sleep. One day on the way home from Scarborough, she had asked if I had any sleepy music and "take me to church" was all I had. Now, it's her "sleepy song" and she's almost without fail asleep before its halfway through
