Wonderful 6 mile stroll around Wivenhoe Estuary. It should have been 3.5 miles but my map reading remains lamentable. Whilst lost we stumbled across this place, inhabited by a couple of teenagers. It's always great to see young people in church, although they were not doing what you might expect to see in a place of worship.

After finding, by accident, the way back we found the local pub, also inhabited by young people. A great spot to recover.

Elwin, if you're tuned in, you might know this place. According to local and not so local legend the church was destroyed by a fire in 1971, the cause of the fire remains unknown. The ruins are a big attraction for paranormal teams who have reported "a lot of spirits present".
