Salisbury Cathedral

Arriving in the golden light of an English evening jet lagged and fatigued, this Gothic cathedral rose elegantly from the wide surround of lawn which holds it. "England is endowed with countless stunning churches, but few can hold a candle to the grandeur and sheer spectacle of Salisbury Cathedral." It captivated me. In this instance, the guidebook seems to have gotten it right.
