Train to Tuk Tuk

Today's journey consisted of... A bentor motorbike from my hotel in Medan to the train station (10 minutes / 75p), a nice train with A/C and beautiful scenery to Siantar (3.5 hours / £1.25), another tiny bentor to the bus station (10 minutes / 75p), a leaking minibus to Parapat (1 hour / £1), a ferry to Tomok on Samosir Island (35 minutes / 40p) and finally a car to Tuk Tuk (10 minutes / free lift from the guesthouse owner). Phew!

Apparently Samosir is one of the largest lake islands in the world. I'm looking forward to seeing it tomorrow as it was dark by the time I arrived. Luckily I have a view of the lake from my balcony.
