Sunday outing

After a reasonably successful night sharing a hotel room with a dog we headed to our friends' house to rally the troops and head out for a muddy, hilly walk to and around Lake Derwent.  Albi had her first proper go in some water though, probably wisely, chose not to do any actual swimming.  

There is something particularly rewarding about heading to a pub garden after such exertions so not to miss out on that the grown-ups headed just there once we had deposited the children back at the house.  Apparently Xboxes and chain watching Friends episodes has more appeal.  More fool them as we sat in glorious sunshine (I believe I may even have removed my coat at one point). 

Headed back for another fine load of catering from our generous hosts.  The pup was so worn out from her exertions and had settled herself so well in front of the Aga we decided to leave her for a sleepover with her new friends. 

Splendid day.  Jackson tired but so so happy to be with his friends and running around with dogs and it is so nice to see some colour in his face.
