Behind our village church

This shrub is growing behind the lovely little church in our village. I'm afraid I haven't a clue what it is, but I do know that it's very pretty.
It was very hard to go to work this morning. We enjoyed an excellent supper yesterday evening at the home of some friends in the village, along with Technophobe and Loosecanon. Although we weren't really really late home, it was long past my bed-time, and I've felt very weary today.
