Fruity blossom
A bit of a variety day today. After breakfast we went for a bike ride. It was great to be out and about - the weather mostly held off though we had some headwinds on a few sections. No annoying tick-tick on the bike - though I moved the sensor magnet so far that it didn't register anything at all so I had to move it back a bit. There is still an annoying jangle at the front end - something metal is lose and able to rattle on our more "pot hole than road" roads.
When we got back I made lunch and set the bread machine up for dinner.
In the afternoon we went to the community orchard and I spent a few hours hacking at brambles (Rubus plicatus). They don't produce much fruit and the have taken over a fence and are scrambling over two small trees and invading the grass in the orchard. Trimming them back hard will stop them from being a nuisance and when they do regrow they should give better fruit that last year.
On returning home I made a lettuce soup (tastes like pea soup) and watched a bit of afternoon TV. Now it's time for dinner: the soup and bread.
Today's blip and the spare are fruit blossom pictures from the community orchard. Most of the trees were in full bloom, a few had already blossomed and 2 were only just awaking. I don't know how the year will pan out, but if there are only 50% the number of fruit as flowers we'll do well.
