The Lizzie Tree
This is a picture of the trees blooming in our front yard. We have three of them in the corner in front of my house. My mom and dad planted them when I was one year old and nicknamed the one in the middle “The Lizzie Tree.” There used to be a little plaque around the trunk that said the day it was planted and why it was planted, but as the tree grew it got too big and the chain wouldn’t fit around the trunk anymore. It is seventeen years old now and it blooms every spring. The flowers usually don’t stay long, but they look really pretty when they are there. There is a tree on either side of “The Lizzie” tree and when I was little I used to call them the “Mommy Tree” and the “Daddy Tree.” The flowers usually start blooming around Mother’s Day and every year I would pick a bunch from the tree and give them to my mom. They make a good background for pictures too. Last year we took prom pictures in front of them and the pictures turned out very nice. I hope the flowers still look as nice when we take prom pictures this year.
