Tour de Yorkshire!

This is the main group of the Tour de Yorkshire coming up Haworth Main Street. The winner of today's solo stage was in this group Ben Hermans and at the back Bradley Wiggins who I cheered but didn't photograph him.

After church we walked over from Brow Moor and got a good position outside The Fleece. Ideal for beer (for Chris) and toilets! The morning's rain had stopped and low and behold the sun came out. Great carnival atmosphere in Haworth and we could see the bikes arriving along Hebden Road. Lots of outriders etc and I got 3 'high fives' as they passed!

I heard this morning that amateur riders for the Tour de Yorkshire were coming through the village. Thought I would miss them as both Chris and I had duties at church but they were still coming up Long Lane through the village as I arrived. I have put a shot of one or two passing the village school, we heard there were 6 to 6,500 of them in the pouring lane!

I loved this guy wearing a Yorkshire Dales sheep outfit arriving into Haworth as we climbed up to the Main Street (also in my extras)

Really glad we made the effort to get there though walking back up Brow Road wasn't much fun! Hope they do it again next year.
