Death of a Skatepark...
TheSpace skatepark in North Berwick closed it's doors about a month ago. A terrible shame as it was such a well run indoor park. It was one of the places that ran knowing that you can't make huge profits off skateparks. It was run more like a charity, community hub, encompassing a vinyl record shop, gigs, cafe, softplay and of course skatepark including the most heavily used vert ramp in the country.
Today we went to strip some wood from it to help build Jan's shed ramp. It is a shame that we were just pulling it all apart, but if it was just left, the wood would all have been tipped. This way, it gets reincarnated into another ramp for skaters to enjoy and the skatepark's charity gets a few bones thrown in as well.
There was no obvious place to cut this piece of coping to fit it into the van so Cee and Haggis did a good job of being a support bench. That's how Fife skaters roll.
