Instead of daffodils

We had a brief visit to Acorn Bank to see the daffodils. However, we had left it a little late this year and, although the ground was covered as usual, they were really past their best. Anyway, very soon the raucous cries of Rooks forced us to look up instead. These big and very noisy birds were busy building nests and making a huge fuss about it.

And we were pleased to see the first House Martins have arrived and were perched in the rafters of the Mill.
