Cat on a cool tar roof

Preparing to be away. Seeds finally ordered. Others planted in pots and into the lean-to greenhouse. Found some more parsnip seed.  They, leeks, beet, chard, lettuce, radish, parsley planted in the dry chalky ground. Watered them in - in April! Bright piercing light and hot. A panic about the MOT but managed to find a garage with a slot. Passed but for a headlight bulb I hadn't even noticed was blown.  Pack and go now, taking a screwdriver from the shed. Unlocking the door at the last moment I noticed next doors' Mr Raffles asleep on the roof practically at eye level under my sail awning. He was very dopey and I wondered if he was hurt but he just seems to have been stunned by the sudden heat. He eventually stretched himself out and shifted into the sun for just a bit more snoozing.
