Hua Lampong main hall

Hua Lampong is Bangkok central railway station. It was built by the British at the end of the 19th century.
I took this picture to show how Thai society functions socially. In Thailand, monks are given the highest respect in society besides the Royal Family. This is why these monks are seated front in a protected section. Some other people have got a few seats in the back, otherwise most everybody is squatting on the floor as it is usual to do in public or at home. In the metro, special seats are reserved for monks, children, disabled people or pregnant women. And this is really respected by all in Thailand.
