The jetty on arrival on our island paradise

After a bus and boat journey we arrive on Koh Rong Samloem ... an island paradise.  As we get off the boat and walk down the jetty to the beach all you can hear is ''wow''.  It is a beautiful long stretch of white sand with turquoise sea ... we think we're going to like it here.

To find accommodation you have to walk up and down the beach with your back packs on which is a long and hot job but eventually we settle for a basic bungalow right on the sand at Mr Kun's place.  Its the cheapest we've found on Saracen Bay and one of the few that are Cambodian run.  At the moment the beach has lots of small resorts, some of which are quite luxurious, and all the empty spots look like they are being developed so this island paradise won't remain like this for long.

We spend the afternoon and evening swimming in the beautiful, warm sea and enjoying the beach before dinner then head to bed in our little hut. There's no electricity on the island but Mr Kun's generator kicks in as it gets dark so we have light. There is also no internet on the entire island ... bliss.
