Fresh supplies arriving on Mr Kun's boat
We had some very heavy rain overnight which kept us awake for a bit but luckily we were dry in our little hut and its a beautiful morning when we wake up. Its early as it gets hot in the hut and we have a feeling we've been nibbled overnight despite the mosquito net ... we''ll see. We decide to wander up and down the beach and check out some of the accommodation options we missed yesterday. We come to the conclusion we have the best spot ... the only thing cheaper is a tent! We also hear that Mrs Kun is a great cook. She's off the island this morning taking her son to the mainland for school but we'll try her out later.
The day is spent lazing on the beach and swimming in the shallow, warm sea. We meet the guys in the beach hut next to us, Zebbie who is Dutch and Johan from France. They met in Australia three years ago and have pretty much been travelling ever since, looking for a place to call home. They are pretty awe struck by this spot.
In the early evening we go for a short run and Mrs Kun comes back from the mainland. Mr Kun heads off to pick up supplies in his boat and his wife and other locals help him unload when he returns wading into the sea fully clothed.
We eat Mrs Kun's fab red curry for dinner and also chat to the guys in the third hut (there are only three at Mr Kun's place ... an exclusive residence!). They are an Israeli and Swedish couple, living in Berlin. We borrow their snorkels and have a night swim - there is loads of plankton so you can create your own underwater firework display.
As we sit on our veranda afterwards there is lightning out to sea and we wonder whether there is going to be a storm overnight.
