Life in your hands

I knew if I waited long enough that I could capture the Wellow village sign against a background of blossom. What I had not counted for since taking a near identical photo last year, that someone would have come along and trimmed the hedge, and thereby destroying  much of the picture that I had in mind's eye.
But not totally disaster, because from the right angle sufficient blossom is still there as a reminder of how delightfully picturesque Hampshire villages can be as Easter approaches.
True, the subject here is a road sign , rather than a quaint chocolate box village scene. Even so, I think it captures the spirit of the seasons and now that we are in Easter week provides a taste of the springtime rejuvenation.
Wellow itself straddles the main A36 road from Bristol to Southampton which itself is one of the busiest roads in the county, providing the shortest distance direct link from South Wales to Southampton Docks.
On one side of the road through the village is the principal residential area, on the other the New Forest.
Oh yes, the right angle to capture the photo I wanted  . . . waiting for sufficient break in the traffic in either direction and then standing in the middle of the road!
