Cyclone Pam

Cyclone Pam is about 100 miles from us. It is very, very windy and lots of rain. The only good thing is that the temperature has dropped to a cool 26°.
R, whom we have been staying with, is the emergency officer for Caritas and has had to swing into action to help the poor people in Vanuatu, the capital of which has been almost demolished. New Caledonia is a far richer country and as such is in a far better position to withstand these cataclysmic events.
