Words by the Water festival

This is a picture of my old friend Joan, in the mirror with some flowers I bought for her. We have known each other for 45 years, having first met when working in Hong Hong, and then by coincidence we moved to Cyprus around the same time, and subsequently she moved to the Lakes when we lived in the North East the first time around,

Today we had two great talks. The first was John Crace, being very witty about all political parties and their leaders. Then we had a wonderful session with Kate Adie, who spoke so eloquently and movingly about working women in WW1.

It's been a very stimulating two days. I may not be able to sleep for hours as we have talked non-stop (except when in lectures) for 2 days, so though I'm tired, my head is buzzing.
