Farewell..

Today we said goodbye to K, who passed away a week or two ago. He died out in the Phillipines, and was cremated there. His ashes will be spread on Handa Island, the island to the right here. A few drinks, sandwiches, conversation, and memories..

We always gave him a few brassica plants, which he'd grow on in his garden, and was always chuffed to have some great tasting fresh veg. At rest now..

On the way home, passing C&L's house, we saw C sprawled on the ground. Dashing over to see if he was alright, it turned out that he fell off the roof while repairing tiles. A fall of 10-12 feet onto a ladder, and rolled down the ladder. He was in a lot of pain. After checking for signs of bleeding, I left G with him, and drove to our house to get assistance. Phoned the Doctor, and then the locum who was staying in KLB. Described the accident, and then called 999 for the ambulance. This was around 5 ish, and the temperatures were starting to drop after a lovely sunny day. Calls made, I dashed upstairs and grabbed blankets and pillows, and dashed back. Checking him over again, he was in pain, and there was nothing I could do except give reassurance that help was on the way. Put a pillow under his head, and covered him with blankets. G had stopped F on his motorbike, and got him to go to the gathering and get the nurse up as well. She turned up a few minutes later, and handled the situation wonderfully. Ambulance and Doctor were here in 10 minutes, and after assessing the situation, got him onto a body board, and into the ambulance for treatment and warmth.. The coastguard helicopter has just taken him to Raigmore.

Wishing you a speedy recovery C..
