Day Trip to London, and the fab Borough Market

up early early bird, that's at least 3 x 5.30am starts in the last week! off to London, via train from Nottingham. bought first class tickets to take mum to Borough Market. what a perfect day for it!

got to Borough at 10am, and it was not busy at all, the perfect time to look around, crowd free and take our time to visit each of it's area. it's an amazing place for anyone interested in food and drink to visit, everything you could wish to see, from more or less anywhere! first sign i saw was Sangria...a little too early at 10.10am! Mum loved it. she spied some gorgeous (and firm) broad beans to pick up later.

picked up some peppers for mr pick, and for myself too, need to try his tapas recipe. then went off for a wander at the side of the thames. the sun beating down on us, as we walked by the Globe, and the Tate, and made our way onto the Millenium Bridge. thank goodness for that breeze. Mum met a fake Queen on the bridge, and i paid 'him' a £1 for the photo privilage! walked to St Pauls Cathedral, and then made our way back, lord knows the temperature, but i was walking in the shade (ala, Alcudia...6 weeks!!)

back to Borough for lunch, fish n'chips, and then a walk along the Thames towards Tower Bridge. the embankment was packed with folks soaking up the sun, I've never seen London so busy. as we got near to Tower Bridge, sirens sounded, and it started to raise, what a treat, never seen that!

back on the tube, and to the glorious station that is St Pancras (love it!). Train home was sluggish, but then so were by then, hot, tired and slightly sun burnt!

Back into town, and rag top down for journey home. Town was busy, England v West Indies at Trent Bridge had just finished, and with the weather, folks waiting around to watch the Carl Froch fight later.

top day ended with me and mum singing along to Leo Sayers 'you make me feel like dancing', as we drove down the A610!.....lovely lovely day with my mum
