Snowdrops in the churchyard

I ventured out briefly to check out the snowdrops in the churchyard.  I did not stay long as the weather was foul with a biting wind.  Instead, I decided to read the relevant chapters of Simon Schama's History of Britain to improve my knowledge of Tudor history in readiness for this week's episode of Wolf Hall.  I had ploughed through the book but even the novel is somewhat opaque without this knowledge.
