Field edge

In a land where most roads and watercourses are straight and the horizon cuts across the landscape like a knife blade, it is pleasant to see a field edge that has a curve.  I sometimes wonder if farmers do it just to stop getting bored!  This morning involved some work but then I met friends for coffee. We have other friends coming for dinner so this afternoon I made treacle and honey soda bread to go with the butternut squash soup.  Then it will be sea bass on a bed of mediterranean vegetables followed by  crème brulée and Lincolnshire Dambuster and Stilton cheeses.  My mouth is watering in anticipation!
