Watercolour in Monochrome

Horrible cold, dull day!  Best thing was our Art Class - it was watercolours this week and everybody was there.  This is my first watercolour ever - a bit of a disaster but I did my best and it took me THREE hours so it's got to be my blip!  I learnt it wasn't just a case of getting a piece of paper and using the paint brush. It had to be special watercolour paper, then it had to be stretched to stop it bubbling and..... and.... and..... until it was ready to take the paint.  Then you can even spread salt on it to get a particular effect.  It was all good fun and some of the paintings were just fantastic. I don't think it will be my favourite medium though.  Next week we are going to do painting to music!
