Wasp in February

Spent some time in the garden this morning  -  taking of advantage of the sun before it disappears!  Had all the windows and doors open  -  it really was quite warm!  This wasp (or Hornet) appeared on my kitchen window this afternoon, and I have no idea whether it had been asleep indoors during the Winter or whether it flew in from the garden. I googled wasps in February and discovered it was not uncommon -  those asleep indoors might awaken if the central heating was to their liking lol!  Those in the garden might awaken if it was warm enough.  She (it might be a Queen) was difficult to capture on camera even in the glass I caught her in, as you can see from her photo. This is the best as the sun has caught her wings.  She is in the Insect Hotel in the garden now  -  well away from the house.
