Blue skies and weird rock formations
Chilly but bright - but no snow! However, could still do the walks planned and had a slightly extended version. It was rather slow as the scenery is so amazing 100s of photos were taken by the group.
This is in the White Valley near Goreme, Cappadocia, which has loads and loads of these pillars, mostly thicker, with hard rock on top. It is also called Love Valley so I'll leave you to imagine some of the shapes!!
We were in the bottom of a canyon of tuff (?tufa) rock and every turn was different - difficult to choose a photo. Many of the trees had mistletoe on them.
We got to a town and a castle-like rock which had been carved into dwellings and then returned down Pigeon Valley, where the rock had been carved into pigeon houses to provide food and fertiliser. We didn't miss the snow.
(I've also posted a photo from yesterday - a flower)
