A wee bird for a splendid new Deacon

My friend Jacqui is being ordained Deacon, along with several other good and worthy people, this Saturday. Right now, she is on retreat, and I guess that I have prayerfully accompanied her these last few days by sewing this little bird bookmark as an ordination gift.
She put a scruffy, slightly bedraggled, little bird on her ordination announcement cards, which inspired me to follow her theme. This little chap started out as a male Splendid Fairy Wren, but I realised that he was too flashy, so I plumped for a slightly fictious version of the female. Who is also splendid, but makes less of a show of it!
