Icy storm

At first it was snow.  It fell all night and into the morning.  Then for a short time it had turned to hail and rain.  Then the temperatures dropped quickly and everything froze.  All the branches on the trees were covered in ice.  They looked like glass.  Then the snow returned for a while.
I took this shot from my front porch looking up the street.  You can see all the ice as well as the new layer of snow.  Tonight it is going to be very cold and windy.  10 degrees and with the wind it will feel like -2! 

I was home alone today and couldn't shovel because of my back.  I knew everything was going to freeze up so I was worried about my porch and walkway.  I was taking my grandson to school when my neighbor was out shoveling and said hello.  Just at that moment my grandson slipped in the messy mix of ice and snow.  He was okay but my neighbor asked if my husband or son were home.  When I told him everyone was out at work he offered to shovel for me.  I was so grateful. 
Sunshine tomorrow but very, very cold.
