Snow Day!
As hoped, the night saw an abundant level of snowfall & there was rushed washing, dressing & breakfasting to get out early before the hoardes descended on the slopey hillside.
Wrapped in multi-layers of borrowed clothes, we slid & slided, laughed & screamed and bumped & banged.
Gracie was the first to request an early departure so as it got to midday, we headed back to get warm & dry from our trip back to Hull.
I understand that Sinead had already told Rebecca about the visit, so rather than the call-by I suggested, we got an invite for dinner.
There were 4 resounding "yes's" when I mentioned it & we had a nice, lazy couple of hours after our manic morning.
Despite asking for a child-sized portion, Rebecca's lunch left me completely stuffed, so a mini- laze on the sofa was most welcome!
Gracie cuddled & snuggled me whilst we watched TV together & it was very sweet & heartwarming for her to do so. Historically, she has been selective with her affections, so perhaps now we are kindred spirits who have seen the error of their ways?!
More niceties were exchanged with Sinead & Grav upon our drop off & I was delivered with 3 big squeezes. Gracie even dispensed a kiss!
We all had a really fun weekend & it was nice that Marley, Evie & Gracie were completely at ease in my company & guardianship. I laughed and joked with them aswell as comforting their tears.
I suspect they thought about their father as much as me.
