Back home!
Another wonderful meal last night, although, it being the same menu, we just swapped what dishes we had last night. Though the element of surprise wasn't there...
We did have a tableside visit from the owner - a wonderful old chap in full tweed suit, tweed waistcoat and plus fours. I'm sure he was absolutely boiling, as the central heating was on full tilt. He went round all the tables and welcomed everyone. Maybe he does that every Saturday night. Nice touch.
After a leisurely breakfast, we drove home. It was a bit dreich today, so we were so lucky with the weather yesterday.
We picked Archie up. He was so pleased to see us. He was sitting at the door where we'd left him, but I'm sure he moved from there over the two days! In fact, he'd been a good boy, had fun with the children (the wee girl told her Mum that she'd taught him to give a paw...) and a great run around Blackford Hill with Alfie yesterday. He fits in there really well, and we've booked him in for a week in the summer when we do our house swap. But before that, a three nighter next month.
He's munching on a treat, happy to be home.
So are we - munching on a treat (a Dundee cake from the House of Bruar) and happy to be home!
