Janet's gallery
Today's the day ......................... for a working lunch
There was a choir committee meeting today - and someone had the clever idea to arrange it over lunchtime.
The best bit about it was that it was held in Janet's house - which is in one of the old parts of Kendal. It would be impossible to find unless you knew it was there. You have to go down a little alleyway and up some very steep steps to a door. And when you go through the door - you enter a completely unexpected and enchanting space.
Janet thinks that her house was built somewhere around the early 1700s. It was in a bit of a state when she bought it more than ten years ago - but she has lovingly restored it and kept as much of the original wooden beams and other features as possible.
Now, it is a very comfortable, interesting place to be. Small - but perfectly formed .......................
