Living by Candlelight!

Life is exhausting when you have to live by candlelight from 4.15 in the afternoon till gone 8.00 the following morning!

The power went off in the early hours of the morning, so we woke up to no power. We had heat as the wood burning stove is very efficient. We could boil a kettle on it and a couple of saucepans for soup. I also managed to heat up a pastie for Tom and a slice of quiche for me.

We were able to provide thermos flasks of hot water and soup for friends who had no stove, so the dogs were happy as they had visitors with dogs who wanted to sit by the fire for a while.
