Fill my cup
At creative prayer today we had to choose a cup which appealed to us in some way. This was mine. There's a child inside of me which wants to be let free. Instead of painting today I wrote:
I am me, created by God, redeemed by Jesus, summoned by name, belonging to the Almighty.
I am the beloved. I am precious and honoured by God.
I am not perfect...
I don't have the perfect body, I don't have the perfect personality, I don't do everything right...
But I am still beloved of God.
It's OK to be me...
I'm what God has made. He made my body, He made my personality, He knows what I can do, he knows what I cannot do, He knows what I will do.
He knows where he's leading me...
My job is to follow, my job is to trust, my job is to be a love song.
To place my cup against the wounds of my Lord and be strengthened and filled by him. Daily, weekly, monthly, yearly. To be continually filled. To give myself as a drink offering to this world in need.
I am the right one for the job. There is no-one else to do the job I can do.
God loves me just the way I am. I was created for his glory.
Fill my cup Lord. The cup that is me. The cup that is my personality.
Use it for your glory Lord. To satisfy the thirsty.
You have made me to use me. Not to sit on a shelf. Not to look pretty. You have made me to bring your joy, bring your love, bring your streams of living water.
My cup is to share Lord…
It may not feel very presentable, it may not seem always the right vessel, but it holds your living water Lord and it can bring life to others.
“Come, all you who are thirsty. Come to the waters” Isaiah 55:1
