A bit shit

In the ongoing shitness that seems to my 2012 so far, the cat (see yesterday) pulled a prison break during the night and is AWOL without pain meds, I seem to have acquired an ear infection and pulled my neck - and the DSLR is now on the wonk.*

Any Canon owners ever had "Err 01 Communications between the camera and the lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts." ? I've cleaned them, but keep getting that message....
