Christmas Eve in Hampshire

A long lie in this morning to celebrate not having to go to work.  Then down to Petersfield for some Christmas food shopping.  It was a lovely sunny morning so we walked across the heath and past the ponds to the town.  After lunch I went for a bike ride; the sun was still shining and the air had a lovely coolness to it.  This is the view across the heath towards the South Downs from one of the higher parts of the path.  The sun was starting to set and the pink the sky and the light on the birch trees in the distance was magical.  On returning home I made mulled wine and mince pies, followed by chilli beef for dinner.  Happy Christmas to everyone and thank you for all your support over the last year - you are wonderful and I appreciate all your comments very much.
