STABLE STORY

I wasn’t going to do another collage, in fact, I had my blip sorted for today, but then I went to the Community Centre, where we meet for church every Sunday, to join in with the Stable Story.

Lots of children and their mums - as well as some dads, and grandparents - turned up to see the children act out the Christmas story, make Christingles, sing songs and generally enjoy themselves - oh and there was food and drink too, but most of the children were too busy crafting to stop and eat!

Christingle means “Christ’s Light” and is a symbol of the Christian faith.  If you want to know more about Christingles and learn how to make one have a look here.  Someone had obviously given much thought to the fact that little ones wouldn’t be able to cope with proper candles, so they had “glowsticks” instead.

At the end of the morning, the children sang a couple of well known carols, the lights were turned out, and the children waved their Christingles and the glowsticks GLOWED!  Then it was time to go home with a “Bag of Hope” filled with interesting facts and booklets about Christmas, and a balloon which said “Happy Birthday, Jesus”.

It was a great morning, which doesn’t happen just by chance, so thank you to all the wonderful people who helped before, during and after and to all the mothers and children who came.

You’re here to be light,
bringing out the God-colors in the world.
God is not a secret to be kept.
Matthew 5:14
